10% by 2015.

Biofuels

Our area has many vendors of biodiesel. Keene City trucks and some vehicles at Keene State College already use biodiesel. While a small quantity of biodiesel is made from used vegetable shortening, in order for biofuels to be a truly sustainable resource, they will need to be produced using permaculture methods.

The Keene landfill also captures methane gas to produce 98% of the transfer station’s energy needs.
